Cabbage Steaks
  • 1 medium green or purple cabbage (about 2 pounds) You can substitute with Savoy or Napa cabbage.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil for a neutral flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Or your favorite seasoning blend.
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Optional: Fresh herbs like parsley or dill for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel off any tough outer leaves from the cabbage.
  2. Remove the core and slice the cabbage into thick 1-inch 'steaks'.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over both sides of each cabbage steak.
  4. Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper on top.
  5. For a spicy kick, add a pinch of cayenne if desired.
Cooking
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Arrange the cabbage steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  3. Cook for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and tender.
  4. Let the steaks rest for a minute before drizzling with more olive oil and garnishing with fresh herbs if desired.
