Preparation
- Begin by scrubbing the potatoes thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. Peel them if you prefer, or leave the skins on for added texture and nutrients. Cut the potatoes into thick slices (about ½ inch) to ensure they cook evenly.
- With a heart-shaped cookie cutter, press down on each potato slice to create heart shapes. If you don’t have a cookie cutter, use a knife to carefully cut out heart shapes.
- Place your heart-shaped potatoes in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Toss everything well until the potatoes are evenly coated.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Arrange the heart-shaped potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook them for about 15-18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Check for a golden-brown color and tenderness by piercing one with a fork. If they need more time, pop them back in for a few more minutes.

Notes
For a different flavor profile, you can substitute olive oil with melted coconut oil. You can also add paprika or chili powder for a kick. For vegan options, serve with cashew-based ranch dip. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
