  • 1 whole chicken (3-4 pounds) 3-4 pound whole chicken (fresh or thawed)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter, ghee, or avocado oil)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or any herb you love, like rosemary or oregano)
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 2 slices lemon (optional, for added flavor)
  • to taste fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start with a clean, dry chicken. Pat it down with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper to make a seasoning paste.
  3. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, including under the skin for more flavor.
  4. If using lemon slices, place them inside the chicken cavity.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for about 5 minutes.
Cooking
  1. Carefully place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
  2. Cook for approximately 30 minutes, then flip the chicken over so the breast side is facing up.
  3. Continue cooking for another 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  4. Let the chicken rest for about 10-15 minutes before carving.

Notes
