  • 1 whole chicken 1 whole chicken (about 3-4 lbs)
  • 2 tablespoons 2 tablespoons of olive oil (or melted butter)
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional: feel free to substitute with rosemary or oregano)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt and pepper to taste (about 1 teaspoon each)
  • 1 slices Fresh lemon slices (optional, for stuffing)
  • to taste Fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme (optional, for stuffing)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (180°C).
  2. Rinse your whole chicken inside and out, then pat it dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and thyme.
  4. Rub this flavorful mixture all over the chicken, ensuring you get every nook and cranny and inside the cavity.
  5. If desired, stuff the cavity with lemon slices and additional fresh herbs.
Cooking
  1. Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
  2. Cook at 360°F (180°C) for 30 minutes.
  3. After 30 minutes, flip the chicken over so that the breast side is facing up.
  4. Continue cooking for another 20-30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the skin is golden brown and crispy.
  5. When done, carefully remove the chicken and let it rest for 10-15 minutes.
