Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend together the mashed bananas and melted butter until well combined.
- Add the sugar, egg, and vanilla extract into the banana mixture. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
- Sprinkle in the baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gently fold in the flour until just combined.
- Optionally stir in chocolate chips or nuts.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and shape it into a circle about 1-inch thick.
- Cut into wedges or use a biscuit cutter for different shapes.
- Place them on your prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with a little milk.
Baking
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
