Ingredients
  

For the shrimp
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Medium-sized shrimp work best
  • 1 cup buttermilk For tenderizing
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Gluten-free flour can be used as an alternative
  • 1/2 cup corn starch For extra crispiness
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • as needed Oil for frying Canola or vegetable oil works well
For the Bang Bang sauce
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 tbsp sriracha Adjust to your heat preference
  • 1 tsp lime juice

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine the shrimp with buttermilk in a bowl and let them soak for about 15 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, corn starch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to create the coating.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat until a drop of batter sizzles upon contact.
  2. Coat shrimp in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess.
  3. Fry the shrimp in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  4. Transfer cooked shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and lime juice until well combined.
  2. Toss the crispy shrimp in the Bang Bang sauce until fully coated.

Notes
