- In a mixing bowl, toss the blueberries with half a cup of sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Let it sit to draw out the juices.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Slowly pour in the milk and melted butter, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
Assembly
- Pour the blueberry mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Spoon the topping over the blueberries without completely covering them.
Baking
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
