Preparing the Chicken
- Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine the chicken with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Make the Sauce
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, rice vinegar, minced garlic, ginger, and gochujang.
- Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 to 7 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Marination
- Pour half of the sauce over the chicken and let them marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 15 minutes.
Skewering & Grilling
- Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers, alternating with bell peppers or onions if using.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
- Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.
Serving Suggestions
- Let the skewers rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Drizzle with the remaining Korean BBQ sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
