  • 3/4 cup brown sugar Packed for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute half with whole wheat flour.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with nuts or dried fruit.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with the melted butter.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract and beaten egg until blended.
  4. Add the brown sugar, baking soda, and a pinch of salt to the mixture.
  5. Gently fold in the flour until just combined; do not overmix.
  6. Add in the chocolate chips and stir to combine.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
