Crumb Topping Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar For the crumb mixture.
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour For the crumb mixture.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted For the crumb mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Optional for the crumb mixture.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the ricotta cheese, eggs, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, careful not to overmix.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Crumb Topping
  1. In a bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, melted butter, and cinnamon for the crumb topping.
  2. Use a fork to create a crumbly texture.
Baking
  1. Pour the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the crumb mixture generously over the top.
  2. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
