  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Optional Chocolate Dipping Sauce
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream) For a vegan option

Preparation
  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Pour this wet mixture into the dry ingredients.
  4. Stir gently until just combined; a few lumps are fine.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat until a small bit of dough sizzles upon contact.
  2. Drop small portions of the dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Transfer fried dough to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and cool for a minute.
  4. Mix together sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish and roll each donut bite in it until generously coated.
  5. For the chocolate dipping sauce, melt chocolate chips with heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring in short bursts until smooth.
