Ingredients
  

Pasta and Sauce
  • 8 oz spaghetti (or your favorite pasta)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce homemade or jarred
Cornbread and Cheese
  • 2 cups cooked cornbread, crumbled store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or your favorite cheese for melting
Meat (Optional)
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef or turkey can substitute with lentils for a vegetarian option
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Garnish
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Cooking Pasta
  1. Set some salted water to boil over high heat.
  2. Once bubbling, cook the spaghetti according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine the marinara sauce and cooked ground meat (if using).
  2. Stir in garlic and onion powders, allowing the sauce to simmer for about 5-7 minutes.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing until the pasta is coated in sauce.
  2. Gently fold in the crumbled cornbread.
Cheesing It Up
  1. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese generously over the top.
  2. Cover the skillet and cook for about 5 minutes until the cheese is melty and bubbly.
Serve
  1. Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley.
