Cheese Ball Base
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (or vegan cream cheese)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or dairy-free cheese)
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, use a hand mixer or a wooden spoon to blend the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar until smooth and creamy.
  2. Gently fold in the chopped cranberries, toasted almonds, green onions (if using), garlic powder, and a pinch of salt. Adjust seasoning to your liking.
  3. Using your hands, scoop the mixture out and shape it into a ball.
  4. Wrap the cheese ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  5. Before serving, roll the cheese ball in any remaining chopped almonds.
Serving
  1. Place the cheese ball on a festive platter, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve with an assortment of crackers, sliced baguette, or fresh fruit.
