  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For added flavor.
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (for frying) Ensure oil is hot before frying.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to create the batter.
  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  3. Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
Frying
  1. Once the oil is hot, add the calamari in small batches, avoiding overcrowding.
  2. Fry the calamari for about 2-3 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Transfer the fried calamari to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Serving
  1. Sprinkle with additional salt and pepper, and garnish with parsley and lemon wedges.

Notes
