Crock Pot Pulled Pork Tacos

Ingredients
  

For the Pulled Pork
  • 3-4 pounds pork shoulder (or pork butt)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Sprinkle over pork for sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
For Serving
  • Corn or flour tortillas
  • Toppings: diced onion, chopped cilantro, avocado, lime wedges

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chopped onion and minced garlic in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Season the pork shoulder generously with salt, pepper, chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika.
  3. Place the seasoned pork shoulder on top of the onions and garlic.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and apple cider vinegar.
  5. Sprinkle the brown sugar over the top.
Cooking
  1. Set your slow cooker to low and let it cook for 8-10 hours.
  2. Once cooked, shred the pork using two forks in the slow cooker.
  3. Mix the shredded pork with the juices and let it absorb flavors for a few more minutes.
Serving
  1. Warm your tortillas and fill them with the pulled pork.
  2. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy.
