Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste) Can substitute with sunbutter or a few nuts.
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1-2 lemons)
  • 1 clove garlic, minced Add more if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • to taste Salt
  • Water (to adjust consistency)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Combine the chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, and minced garlic in a food processor.
  2. Blend until the mixture is creamy. If it's too thick, add a spoonful of cold water to loosen it.
  3. Drizzle in the olive oil and sprinkle in the ground cumin. Blend until smooth.
  4. Taste and adjust seasonings with more salt or lemon juice if needed.
  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with paprika or fresh herbs.

Notes
