Ingredients
  

For the Shrimp
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 quarts water
  • 1 whole lemon, halved
  • 1 tablespoon old bay seasoning (optional) This adds extra flavor.
For the Wasabi Cocktail Sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 teaspoons wasabi paste Adjust to your preference.
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

Prepare the Shrimp
  1. In a large pot, bring your water to a boil, adding the halved lemon and old bay seasoning if using.
  2. Gently add the shrimp to the pot when boiling. Cook until shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Immediately strain the shrimp and plunge them into an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  4. Let the shrimp chill for about 5 minutes or until completely cold.
Make the Cocktail Sauce
  1. In a bowl, mix together ketchup, wasabi paste, horseradish, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste.
Serve
  1. Serve the chilled shrimp on a platter alongside your wasabi cocktail sauce.
  2. You can arrange shrimp around a small bowl of sauce or skewer them for a fancier presentation.
