  • 1 loaf loaf of sourdough bread (about 10-12 inches long)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Adjust based on your love for garlic
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Or 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella or Parmesan cheese Optional, for extra flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the sourdough loaf in half lengthwise.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture generously over the cut surfaces of the bread.
  5. If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  2. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the aroma fills the air.
Serving
  1. Let the bread rest for a minute before slicing into pieces.
  2. Serve warm, alongside pasta, salads, or as a cozy snack.
