  • 1 pinch black pepper Enhances the absorption of turmeric.
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup For sweetness; adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Adds warmth and depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) For extra flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (optional) For additional flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and set it over medium heat, watching carefully to ensure it doesn't boil.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, and black pepper. Add nutmeg or vanilla extract if desired.
Cooking
  1. Once the milk is warmed, whisk in the spice mixture until well combined and no lumps remain.
  2. Simmer the mixture for 2-3 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Remove from heat when it begins to bubble gently. Sweeten with honey or maple syrup, whisking again.
