  • 6 cups mixed greens (arugula, spinach, or romaine) Use a mix for different textures.
  • 1 large apple (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp) Thinly sliced for sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese Adds a creamy richness.
  • 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans (toasted) Toasted for extra flavor.
  • 1/4 cup red onion (thinly sliced) Optional for a bit of zing.
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries or raisins For a hint of sweetness.
Dressing
  • Olive oil For drizzling.
  • Balsamic vinegar or lemon juice To taste.
  • Salt and pepper To season.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the mixed greens thoroughly and pat them dry.
  2. In a large bowl, layer the mixed greens.
  3. Slice the apple into thin wedges and toss them into the bowl.
  4. Gently fold in the crumbled blue cheese.
  5. If using, sprinkle in the red onion.
  6. Add the toasted nuts over the salad.
  7. Sprinkle the dried cranberries or raisins on top.
  8. Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar or lemon juice, then season with salt and pepper.
  9. Toss everything gently to coat the ingredients evenly.
