Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If you’re using store-bought dough, roll it out lightly on a floured surface until smooth and slightly stretched.
- Slice your dough into triangles, similar to pizza wedges.
- On the wide end of each triangle, place a slice of ham followed by a generous sprinkle of cheese and optional fresh herbs.
- Roll the dough gently from the wide end towards the tip, tucking it securely as you go, and curve the ends inward to shape it into a crescent.
- Place your croissants on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, ensuring they have room to expand.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Baking
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until puffed and beautifully golden.

Notes
You can assemble croissants the night before and refrigerate them. Reheat leftovers in the oven for a few minutes. Feel free to experiment with ingredients, such as adding sautéed spinach or roasted red peppers. For a vegan option, use plant-based substitutes.
