  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter for richer flavor
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce low-sodium works great
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed is preferred
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Cooking Shrimp
  1. Heat your pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the oil or melted butter, allowing it to shimmer.
  2. Toss in the minced garlic, stirring gently for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp in a single layer to achieve a beautiful golden color.
  4. After about a minute, flip the shrimp, they should be turning pink.
  5. Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the shrimp and toss gently.
  6. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through.
  7. Add a splash of fresh lemon juice right before removing from heat.
  8. Finish with salt, pepper, and any desired garnishes.
