Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 1/4 cup honey can substitute with maple syrup for a vegan option
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce (low-sodium)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger or 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil or any oil you prefer
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for creating a crust
  • Green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting your salmon into bite-sized cubes, ensuring they're all roughly the same size for even cooking.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
Cooking
  1. Drizzle the sesame oil into a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Once hot, carefully place the salmon cubes in the skillet and let them sear for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden on one side.
  3. Gently flip the salmon cubes, allowing them to cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle the cornstarch evenly over the salmon to create a crust.
  5. Pour the honey-garlic sauce over the salmon and toss everything together. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the salmon.
Serving
  1. Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
  2. Serve warm and prepare for compliments!

Notes

Feel free to experiment with flavors! Add sriracha for heat or fresh herbs for a twist. Leftovers work well in salads or grain bowls. Can use frozen salmon, just thaw completely beforehand.
