  • 1 package puff pastry (thawed)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1-2 pieces fresh jalapeños (finely chopped) Adjust based on heat preference
  • 1/4 cup bacon bits (optional)
  • 1 large egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Let the puff pastry sheets sit on the counter for a few minutes.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, chopped jalapeños, and bacon bits if using. Blend until creamy.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut them into strips about 1 inch wide.
  6. Place a generous tablespoon of the cheese mixture at one end of a pastry strip, fold the pastry over the filling, and twist it gently.
  7. Place the twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Brush the twists lightly with the beaten egg.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the twists are puffed and golden.
  2. Keep an eye on them to prevent overbaking.
  3. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
