Preparation
- Prepare your angel food cake batter, following the package instructions or your homemade recipe. It should be fluffy and airy.
- Transfer the mixture into a piping bag or a zip-lock bag with a corner snipped off.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Drop a small spoonful of batter into the oil to check if it sizzles.
Cooking
- Pipe about a 2-3 inch long strip of the batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown on one side, then flip to brown the other.
- Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and let any excess oil drip off.
Coating
- Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon in a separate bowl while the churro bites are still warm.
- Toss the churro bites in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
- Serve with optional dipping sauces.

Notes
You can make the angel food cake from scratch for an extra special touch. For a healthier alternative, consider using coconut oil for frying or baking.
