  • 1 pie crust 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade) You can use a pre-made pie crust to save time.
  • 8 oz 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to swap with other cheese types.
  • 8 oz 8 oz cooked sausage, crumbled Breakfast sausage works well; can substitute with mushrooms or tofu.
  • 1/4 cup 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 4 large eggs 4 large eggs For a vegan version, substitute with tofu.
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup milk (or a non-dairy alternative)
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp hot sauce Adjust to taste.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. If using a frozen pie crust, let it thaw for about 10-15 minutes and fit it into a pie dish, poking holes in the bottom to prevent bubbling.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream, beating until smooth.
  4. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled sausage, and chopped green onions.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, hot sauce, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture into the sausage and cheese blend, stirring gently to combine.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared pie crust, level it out, and pop it into the oven.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is golden and a tester comes out clean.
  2. Allow it to cool for about 10-15 minutes before slicing.
