Preparation
- Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once warmed, add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and stir for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and break it up with a spatula. Cook until nicely browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Cooking
- Once the beef is browned, pour in the diced tomatoes, broth, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir well.
- Add the pasta directly into the pot and stir well. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve in bowls topped with fresh basil or parsley.

Notes
Optionally serve with garlic bread, a light salad, or grated Parmesan on top. For variations, add veggies like spinach or bell peppers, or use lentils for a vegan option.
