  • 1 package 1 package (about 16 oz) of refrigerated pizza dough Store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese For melting and flavor
  • ½ cup ½ cup of sliced pepperoni Can use turkey pepperoni for a lighter option
  • ¼ cup ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese Optional for extra flavor
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning Or your favorite pizza herbs
  • 1 egg 1 egg For egg wash, optional
  • to taste Marinara sauce For dipping
Optional Ingredients and Substitutions
  • Bell peppers, olives, or mushrooms Try adding for extra flavor.
  • Cheddar or provolone Replace mozzarella with these for variety.
  • Garlic powder or crushed red pepper Experiment with these for a spice kick.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it’s about ¼-inch thick.
  3. Sprinkle an even layer of shredded mozzarella cheese across the surface.
  4. Scatter your pepperoni slices over the cheese, followed by grated Parmesan and Italian seasoning.
  5. Cut the dough into strips about 1-2 inches wide.
  6. Twist each strip several times to create a spiral shape and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Beat the egg and brush a little over the tops of your twists for a golden finish.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 12-15 minutes, until golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  2. Monitor closely as baking time may vary with different ovens.

Notes
