Steak Ingredients
  • 2 pieces ribeye or sirloin steaks (or your preferred cut) Ribeye, sirloin, and tenderloin work great, but feel free to use what you love!
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or your choice of oil) Can substitute with avocado oil or grapeseed oil for high-heat grilling.
  • to taste sea salt
  • to taste freshly cracked black pepper
  • optional garlic powder or fresh herbs for seasoning Use as desired for added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your grill to high heat, aiming for around 450°F to 500°F (232°C to 260°C).
  2. Pat your steaks dry with a paper towel.
  3. Brush both sides of the steak with olive oil and season generously with sea salt and black pepper.
  4. Optional: Sprinkle some garlic powder on the steaks.
Grilling
  1. Place the steaks on the grill and close the lid.
  2. Grill each side for about 4 to 5 minutes for a perfect medium-rare.
  3. Use tongs to flip the steak only once to help build that coveted crust.
  4. Check the internal temperature with an instant-read thermometer and pull the steak off at 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
  5. Allow the steak to rest for about 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
