- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into oval patties, about 1/2-inch thick.
Cooking
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties to the pan, searing them for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they develop a lovely brown crust.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and set them aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the beef broth, scraping up the brown bits stuck to the bottom. Stir in the horseradish, heavy cream, and parmesan cheese, letting it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Return the beef patties to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over them. Let them simmer in the sauce for another 5-7 minutes.
