Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (freshly cooked or canned) For a quicker option, you can use pre-cooked sweet potatoes or canned versions.
  • 1 cup sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 cup milk Consider substituting almond milk for a lighter version.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted For a vegan option, use vegan butter.
  • 2 large eggs These help bind the mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg A pinch enhances flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional) Can be substituted with walnuts.

Baking
  1. Pour the sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish. If desired, sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden on top.
  3. Once done, let it cool slightly before serving.
