Ingredients

For the lemonade
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Feel free to use frozen in a pinch.
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons, depending on size)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Adjust sweetness to taste.
  • 4 cups water, divided
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish Optional, but oh-so-pretty.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries with 1 cup of water and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the strawberry puree through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or pitcher to remove the seeds and pulp.
  3. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and sugar to the strawberry juice. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  4. Pour in the remaining 3 cups of water and mix everything until well combined.
  5. Chill in the refrigerator for about an hour or serve immediately over ice.
Serving
  1. Garnish each glass with a slice of lemon and a sprig of mint, if desired.

Notes

For variations, you can mix in other fruits like raspberries or peaches. Swap out regular water for sparkling water for a fizzy delight. To keep it vegan, use agave syrup or coconut sugar instead of granulated sugar.
